I began to paint cotton fabric because the fabric shops didn't have the color fabric I needed for a landscape quilt. I found it to be an intriguing and inspiring experience, especially the way the colors make patterns in the fabric and makes it glow so beautiful. I have continued to paint fabric; from pieces that could be part of a landscape quilt to silhouette Tree of Life on beautiful backgrounds and impressions of ginkgo, fern or other leaves from nature. I think painting fabric and making landscape quilts is fun and artistically satisfying. I like the idea that any scene from nature or any picture you like can be made into a landscape or picture quilt. I hope you will enjoy my hand painted fabric and that it will add uniqueness and beauty to your quilts or projects using fabric.
